The only other member from the Premji family to be inducted into the board would be Rishad Premji, Azim Premji’s elder son and strategy officer of Wipro Limited (which earlier accounted for Wipro’s IT business). Rishad Premji (also board member in Wipro GE Healthcare, a joint venture between Wipro and GE’s healthcare business), would be a non-executive director in the Wipro Enterprises board.
'Suresh Senapaty, chief financial officer and director of Wipro Limited, would be inducted into the board of the new company as non-executive director. Pratik Kumar, president of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, and Vineet Agrawal, president of Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting, would also be named executive directors in the Wipro Enterprises board.
“Wipro Enterprises would finally have a board, with Azim Premji as non-executive chairman, along with Suresh Senapaty, Rishad Premji, Pratik Kumar and Vineet Agrawal as other board members,” the company said in a statement.
At a press conference after announcing Wipro’s results for the quarter ended March, Azim Premji had said the composition of the Wipro Enterprises board would be “purely internal, with no outsider as director”. He added he didn’t have any plan of taking Wipro Enterprises public.
