Formula One legend Michael Schumacher is reportedly in a 'stable but critical condition', even as investigators are examining a camera fixed on his ski helmet for clues that could shed some light on his accident.
The helmet of the seven-time retired German champion, who is in a medically induced coma after suffering head injuries during a fall in the resort of Meribel last Sunday, cracked on impact when he hit a rock while skiing off-piste.
According to Sport24, Schumacher's spokesperson Sabine Kehm in a statement said that the seven-time F1 champion, who recently turned 45 while still in an induced coma, remains in a 'critical but stable' condition and that no more press conferences were scheduled before Monday.
Kehm further stated that any information on Schumacher's condition 'not coming from the doctors treating him or from his management must be treated as invalid and pure speculation' and denied reports that his family had been reluctant to hand over the camera because of privacy reasons.
The existence of the GoPro camera was publicly revealed five days after the December 29 accident in the French Alps near the Meribel ski resort, although it is yet not known whether the camera filmed Schumacher's descent down the slope or whether the images have been damaged by the impact on the rock, the report added.
