India on Wednesday reported a net reduction of 768 to take its count of active coronavirus cases to 176498, the lowest since June 22 and 82.65 per cent lower than the September 18 peak of 1,017,754. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases has declined to 0.68 per cent (one in 147). The country is 13th among the most affected countries by active cases. India added 12,689 cases to take its total caseload to 10,689,527. And, with 137 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 153,724, or 1.44 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 
With 5,671 more vaccinations across India on Tuesday, the total count of those inoculated reached 2,029,480. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 10,359,305 – or 96.91 per cent of total caseload – with 13,320 new cured cases being reported on Wednesday.
 
  • With a daily increase of 12,689 in total cases, India’s tally of coronavirus cases has risen from 10,676,838 on Tuesday to 10,689,527 – an increase of 0.1%. Death toll has reached 153,724, with 137 fatalities in a day. Now the thirteenth-most-affected country by active cases, third by fatality, and second by total and recovered cases, India has added 93,867 cases in the past 7 days.
  • India now accounts for 0.68% of all active cases globally (one in every 147 active cases), and 7.09% of all deaths (one in every 14 deaths).
  • India has so far vaccinated 2,029,480 people. That is 18.98 per cent of its total caseload, and 0.1462 per cent of its population.
  • Backwards from here, the last 1 million cases for India have come in 51 days.
  • The count of active cases across India has seen a net reduction of 768, compared with 6,916 on Tuesday. Five states with highest net increase in active cases are Kerala (984), Maharashtra (252), Chhattisgarh (125), J&K (19), and Puducherry (15).
  • With 13,320 new daily recoveries, India’s recovery rate has inched up to 96.91%, while the fatality rate remains unchanged at 1.44%.
  • The Indian states and UTs with the worst case fatality rates at present are Punjab (3.23%), Maharashtra (2.53%), and Gujarat (2.19%). The rate in as many as 13 is higher than the national average.
  • India’s new daily closed cases stand at 13,457 — 137 deaths and 13,320 recoveries. The share of deaths in total closed cases stands at 1.02%.
  • India’s 5-day moving average of daily rate of addition to total cases stands at 0.1%.
  • India’s doubling time for total cases stands at 583.6 days, and for deaths at 777.4 days.
  • Overall, five states with the biggest 24-hour jump in total cases are Kerala (6293), Maharashtra (2405), Karnataka (529), Tamil Nadu (523), and Gujarat (380).
  • Among states with more than 25,000 cases, the five with worst recovery rates at present are Kerala (91.61%), Maharashtra (95.24%), Punjab (95.54%), Gujarat (96.74%), and Uttarakhand (96.77%).

  • Five states with the highest TPR by daily numbers for tests and cases added – are Kerala (10.43%), Goa (4.74%), Maharashtra (4.2%), Chhattisgarh (3.61%), and Sikkim (3.51%).
  • Among states and UTs with more than 10 million population, five that have carried out the highest number of tests (per million population) are Delhi (528172), J&K (336608), Kerala (266181), Karnataka (253681), and Andhra Pradesh (247834).
  • The five most affected states by total cases are Maharashtra (2013353), Karnataka (936955), Kerala (899932), Andhra Pradesh (887238), and Tamil Nadu (835803).
  • Maharashtra, the most affected state overall, has reported 2,405 new cases to take its tally to 2013353. The state has added 25,675 cases in the past 10 days.
  • Karnataka, the second-most-affected state, has reported 529 cases to take its tally to 936955.
  • Kerala, now the third most-affected state by total tally, has added 6293 cases to take its tally to 899932.
  • Andhra Pradesh has added 172 cases to take its tally to 887238.
  • Tamil Nadu has seen its tally going up by 523 to 835803.
  • Delhi has added 157 cases to take its tally to 634229.
  • Uttar Pradesh has added 301 cases to take its tally to 599208.
