Reliance Foundation founder and chairperson Nita Ambani on Thursday visited Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, where Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has been admitted. She is the first member from a major business house in the country to visit the Chief Minister in the hospital, according to sources.

Nita Ambani, wife of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, arrived at Chennai on Thursday evening and visited the hospital. She had discussions with the doctors and political leaders in the hospital, regarding the health condition of Jayalalithaa, according to sources.

It may be noted that various regional and national political leaders including Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, BJP President Amit Shah, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, among others. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has conducted a special pooja at Tirupathi Temple for complete recovery of Jayalalithaa, according to AIADMK officials.

Apollo Hospitals, in a press release issued on October 10, said that the Chief Minister is being constantly monitored by the Intensivists and other consultants in the Expert Panel. Necessary respiratory support, antibiotics, nutrition, supportive therapy and passive physiotherapy are being given to her, it added.

A three member team from All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) and an expert from United Kingdom are also involved in the treatment of Jayalalithaa. She was admitted in the Hospital on September 22, and the hospital said that she had fever and dehydration at the time.
