Central Bureau of Investigation has registered two more cases in the coal block allocation scam against BLA Industries and its managing director Anup Agarwala, Castron Technologies, Castron Mining for wrong allocation of coal blocks.

CBI has conducted raids in Dhanbad, Narsinghpur-Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai and Kolkata in connection with this case. Searches were also carried in Delhi and Bhopal. The case has been registered as part of an inquiry into the allocations made between 1993 and 2005.

BLA Industries was allocated the Gotitoria (East) and Gotitoria (West) coal blocks in June 1996. The blocks are located in Mahapani coalfield in Madhya Pradesh and possess reserves exceeding 9 Million Tonne.

CBI in its FIR has alleged that BLA was permitted to sell the coal in open market against the principle of captive mining.

CBI has now registered 16 FIRs in the coal block allocation scam. The agency will submit its status report on this matter in the Supreme Court tomorrow. The agency would inform the apex court of the allocations where no instance of criminality has been found. CBI, in its status report would also tell the SC about retrieving the missing coal block allocation files.
