Pakistani nuclear scientist A Q Khan who is considered as the world's most infamous agent of nuclear proliferation, wants that the former Pak president General Pervez Musharraf be tried for the alleged crimes he did during his nearly decade-long rule.

"Yes, a trial must be held against him," Khan told the Pakistani Aaj News Television in an interview, which was aired from Karachi on August 31.

"Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti's (Baluch leader) murder, Red Mosque operation, and Musharraf's action against the Supreme Court judges are just a few of his crimes," Khan said, according to the English translation of the interview done by the Directorate of National Intelligence's Open Source Center.

A copy of it was obtained by the Secrecy News of the Federation of American Students (FAS).

It was Musharraf, who put him under house arrest for several years on charges of nuclear proliferation. He was released from house arrest early this year.

Khan alleged that the Musharraf regime "pressured and threatened" him to give a confessional statement on proliferation of nuclear technology.

When asked about drone attacks in Pakistan, Khan said: "We cannot afford to confront the United States, but we have our sovereignty. Musharraf will sell Pakistani citizens in exchange for dollars."
