AP to sign MoUs worth Rs 5 lakh cr

The two-day Partnership Summit beginning here tomorrow is expected to attract 1,200 delegates, including 350 foreign delegates and 15 trade and economic ministers from 43 counties. The flagship international event is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with the government of Andhra Pradesh and Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Government of India.

The huge overseas participation makes the current edition of the summit the largest business event in India, CII said in a press release adding the summit aims to evolve a road map on partnership in innovation for global growth and development.

About seven plenary sessions are proposed to be held during the event on themes such as Global Economic Shocks, India and USA promise: partnership for progress, and similar country specific sessions on China and Africa.

More than 140 MoUs approximately valuing Rs 5 lakh crore will be signed by the state government for various projects, the CII said.

Overseas ministers and other key figures addressing the summit include Goh Chok Tong, Emeritus Senior Minister, Singapore, Omar Hazrat Jakhilwal, Finance Minister of Afghanistan, US Senator Mark Warner, Co-chair, Senate India Caucus.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma, CII president and vice chairman of Tata Steel B Muthuraman, Hero Corporate Services Limited chairman Sunil Kant Munjal and Punj Lloyd Limited chairman Atul Punj are some of the other key figures taking part in the event.

The Summit will also host networking events like dinner and luncheon sessions, B2B meetings beside cultural events, according to the release.
