The contract, known as the GSA Group 70 IT Schedule Contract (GS-35F-0135P), allows CellExchange Federal, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CellExchange to sell its entire range of business solutions in real-time decision management, human capital management, homeland security (threat detection), and smart bill electronic document processing and distribution, to any US Federal agency worldwide.
This means CellExchange's business solutions and products are now directly accessible to hundreds and thousands of federal, civilian, and defence purchasers and contractors, a company release said. CellExchange already has several government customers for its real-time decision management solutions, including the US Navy, the US Air Force, the Department of Defence, the Federal Aviation Administration, Defence Information System Agency, and Defence Logistics Information Services.
The GSA Schedule, also known as the multiple award schedule, is an excellent pre-negotiated contracting vehicle for government purchasing officers and a favoured way of acquiring products and services.
The latest enrollment will open up new opportunities for CellExchange to offer business solutions and products to hundreds and thousands of other federal and also quasi-governmental agencies and international organisations, according to Krishna P Nangegadda, President, CellExchange Federal.
"A large percent of our company's sales are from government organisations. The GSA listing is a catalytic sales tool, making our products and business solutions readily available at a special discount pricing," Nangegadda said. The contract value is estimated to be over $5 million.
"We expect that most of our federal government revenues in 2004 will be derived using the GSA schedule vehicle. In fact, some state governments too will be using the federal GSA schedule as well," he said.
"The GSA schedule helps to differentiate CellExchange from its competition by underscoring the company's commitment to the federal market. The contract is a great streamlined procurement vehicle which allows the government to award task orders more efficiently, and it should also decrease CellExchange's sales cycle significantly," said Dana Rozycki of Rozycki Associates, which assisted CellExchange Inc with the entire GSA Schedule application process.
The GSA Advantage is primarily beneficial to hardware and software companies, since it allows government buyers to purchase products with their government-issued VISA cards. For CellExchange, it serves more as a basic overview of the company for government buyers doing basic market research, Rozycki adds.
