The CPI-M's Tamil Nadu unit has expressed confidence of reaching an amicable settlement over sharing of seats with the AIADMK for the Lok Sabha polls, amid reports of stalemate in talks between the alliance leaders.
The party's State Executive, which met here yesterday, was in favour of facing the election in alliance with AIADMK but decided to authorise the committee to take action in case the seat-sharing talks fail, party sources said.
A resolution was adopted at the meeting, which went late into the night, in this regard.
U Vasuki, Central Committee Member, K.Varadharajan, N.Varadharajan, State secretary, Politburo members A K Rangarajan, V R Ranagarajan, A K Padmanabahan, G Ramakrishnan also participated in the state executive meet.
