Customs Dept raises specific duty on imports of rubber

The government has increased specific customs duty on rubber to Rs 30 a kg from Rs 20 to help protect the domestic growers against falling prices. However, advalorem duty has been retained at 20 per cent, an official statement said on Saturday.
