The Madhya Pradesh Dalit Sena chief Vimla Sondhia yesterday said the decision of senior tribal leder and former Union minister Arvind Netam to quit the Congress was because of atrocities on dalits and tribals under the Congress regime in Madhya Pradesh. He said tribal leaders of Congress were escaping to other parties as the Congress had failed to serve dalits and tribals.
Dalits and tribals have realised the twin character of state Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and Congress, she remarked.
Meanwhile, the district BSP leader, Taukir Nizami has welcomed Netams decision to join the party and said Netams action would help to strengthen the BSP in the state.
Nizami, in a release, expressed the hope that more tribal leaders from Congress and other parties would follow the foot-steps of Netam in the interest of tribals.
