Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today asked all concerned ministries not to sit over the Shunglu committee report on alleged irregularities in the conduct of the 2010 Commonwealth Games and take action on the basis of the report findings.
In a directive issued to the ministries, the prime minister told them in case they agree with the findings, they should go ahead and take action. In case there were disagreements with the report, the ministries should get back to the Prime Minister’s Office and not sit over it, the message from the Prime Minister said.
The directive comes in the wake of the Delhi government rubbishing some the recommendations of the committee alleging it has overlooked the constraints. The Prime Minister had last year appointed the high-level committee under the chairmanship of former Comptroller and Auditor General Shunglu to investigate and report all irregularities in executing various projects.
