"India is one country where the private sector financing is taking place on a big way in the shape of public-private partnership (PPP) projects. The government is continuously making efforts to create a conducive environment to channelise the private sector financing," Road Transport and Highways Minister Oscar Fernandes said at an event here.
The highways sector is a thrust area of the government, he said, adding that the Centre has made substantial efforts to address the shortcomings in the sector.
