Gslv-D2 Launch On Thursday

The Indian Space Research Organisation will launch the GSLV-D2 (second development version of the geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle) on Thursday, K Kasturirngan, ISRO chairman, announced in Bangalore on Monday. The GSLV-D2 put in orbit the GSAT-2 satellite.

If the launch window cannot be utilised on Thursday, two other windows are available over the next two days.

The GSLV-D2 will revalidate the cryogenic engine acquired from the Russians and the four liquid propelled strap-on motors of the first stage.
