The Bombay High Court, which is hearing the petition filed by the controversial Adarsh Society, today asked the court officer to visit the society and verify how many flats are actually occupied.
The court's order came before the lunch break and the officer has been asked to submit his report when the hearing resumes at 1530 hours this afternoon.
Adarsh society had approached the High Court challenging civic authorities' action of cutting of power and water supply and also the revocation of Occupational Certificate.
During the hearing in the morning session, the lawyer for the defence ministry told the court that the society is a great "security hazard" in the wake of threat perception after the November 26 terror attack.
The plush housing society, built on prime defence land, has been embroiled in a controversy after it came to light that it has been constructed in alleged violation of rules.
The building was originally meant to be a six-storey structure to house Kargil war heroes and their kin but was later extended to 31 floors without mandatory permission.
