High level committee to examine cadres' pay scale

A high level committee headed by the chief secretary will look into the demand for revision of the cadre and pay scale by employees belonging to different service cadres. The special secretary in the general administration department will be the convener secretary.

The committee will have secretaries from the department of revenue, finance, home and works as its members. It will submit its report to the cabinet sub-committee on anomalies headed by the finance minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai. This was decided in a meeting of the cabinet sub-committee on anomalies held in the state secretariat today.

Briefing the media Ghadai said, the chief minister Naveen Patnaik had referred the matter of restructuring the cadre and the pay scales of the engineers. Besides, 26 more service cadres have demanded restructuring their cadres and pay scales.

Since detail discussion were required for resolving the issue, the cabinet sub-committee today decided to constitute the high level official committee. The sub-committee will consider the report of the official committee and the recommendations will be sent to the chief minister for approval.
