In a joint statement issued by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI), Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industry(BNCCI), Bharat Chamber of Commerce(BCC), Calcutta Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII-eastern region), Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Merchants Chamber of Commerce(MCC) and Oriental Chamber of Commerce (OCC), they expressed concern at the frequent strikes called by the political parties in the state saying that they hamper the state's image and growth prospects.
