BJP vice-president KL Sharma yesterday described BSP leader Kanshi Rams statement as one given for the consumption of the rank and file.
Sharma also did not rule out the possibility of a BJP-BSP alliance for the next general election. However, he carefully added that the present alliance was limited to Uttar Pradesh.
The party had to go by previous experience and as far as the BJP was copncerned, we evaluate these things on action and not statements, he claimed. The party was aware of its responsibility and also Rams recent statement, he added.
The BSP had supported the BJPs candidate in the recent lok sabha by-election in East Delh and also Surjit Singh Barnala for the vice-Presidents post, he pointed out, and argued that these actions by the BSP indicated that there was no immediate threat to the alliance.
