| Speaking at the function he said that the directorate will invite all polytechnics in the state to participate in the programme. In the first phase, 14 polytechnics were allotted an average of Rs 12-13 crore each. "Karnataka is known for the large number of institutions imparting technical education. The thrust now is on quality," he said. |

As part of the plan, the Centre will give one-time grant to the state government/private managements to start technical institutions in each district. |
