Liechtenstein, a landlocked country bordering Austria and Switzerland in west Europe, is keen to develop a broad-based relationship with India.
This was conveyed by visiting Prince Alois who along with Princess Sophie met Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan and Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan in Raj Bhavan yesterday.
Liechtenstein has a population of 35,000 and an area of 160 sq km. It has the highest GDP per person in the world.
Prince Alois told the Governor that Liechtenstein wants to develop broad-based relationship with India, a Raj Bhavan release said.
The Governor hosted dinner in honour of the royals and the high-level ministerial delegation accompanying them.
Chavan, Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court Mohit Shah, Chairman, State Legislative Council Shivajirao Deshmukh and Minister Jayant Patil attended the dinner.
