The thermal power project has been pending since 2002 and the state government has asked NEEPCO authorities to start construction work as early as possible, Tripura Power Minister Manik Dey said here today.
''I had a meeting with NEEPCO chairman-cum-managing director V K Abbey to discuss the present status of the project,'' he said adding the tender for the power project would be opened on July 10.
Dey said NEEPCO wants to start the Rs 330 crore power project within the next three months and complete work by 2010 end.
ONGC has already assured supply of 0.5 million cubic meters of natural gas for 15 years for the proposed power plant.
