Slamming BJP central leadership for deciding to allow B S Yeddyurappa to remain as Karnataka Chief Minister despite alleged land scams, Congress and JD-S today vowed to continue their campaign for his government's ouster.
"Till this government goes, till the Chief Minister goes, we will continue our fight. There is no compromise on this," KPCC president G Parameshwara said after BJP decided to retain Yeddyurappa, who was under mounting pressure to quit over allegations of corruption and nepotism in land deals.
"We will expose string of scams. We have bundles of documents. We will expose one-by-one," Parameshwara said, adding, the Chief Minister could be prosecuted and Congress was examining the possibility of legal battle for his ouster.
He said while Congress President upheld "morality" (in Adarsh housing society scam), BJP central leadership engaged in "moral degradation" (by not taking action against Yeddyurappa).
Yeddyurappa being retained as Chief Minister is also an insult to media which exposed the scams, he contended.
The JD-S, which came out with documents against Yeddurappa and his family on alleged scams, flayed BJP for continuing "tainted" Chief Minister and declared it would take to streets to expose his misdeeds launching agitation from December 1.
"The BJP high command which has endorsed corruption by Yeddyurappa has adopted a new principle to sustain the party from the money earned from corrupt practices and encourage caste politics," JD-S spokesman Y S V Datta told PTI.
"Depend upon a caste for power, thereby gain power, from power become corrupt and from corruption maintain and sustain the party is the new political definition of BJP," he said.
JD-S would continue its campaign against Yeddyurappa government with a two pronged strategy, he said.
The party would resort all avenues available under the Constitution and launch a movement in all Assembly constituencies to create "awakening" among people on the corruption of Yeddyurappa government by releasing documents, Datta said.
