Sources said the in principle decision follows Gujrals intention not to shield anyone facing corruption charges. They said the minister would be dropped only after the CBI moves in the matter, apparently referring to the charge-sheet that would be filed by the investigating agency consequent to governor A R Kidwais decision. The CBI had indicated that it would take about two weeks to file the chargesheet.

Verma said in Patna yeaterday that he would abide by whatever decision the Prime Minister took in the matter with all humility but felt there was no need for him to resign immediately.
