Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan says he is "uncomfortable" with the current level of inflation but will wait for more data before deciding on monetary policy actions.

“We just got those numbers. The CPI number, certainly according to the market expectation, has surprised on the upside...I think it is too quick for me to react to this specific number," Rajan said after the central bank's board meet here on Thursday.

“I have to analyse the IIP and WPI numbers and all other factors that have taken place since our last policy statement. As far as the inflation goes, we are uncomfortable with the current level. I have said that at 10.1% and I will again say it at 11.24%," Rajan said.

The Governor said the RBI would try and ensure that there was enough liquidity in the market and the central bank might ,ake further bond purchases to keep liquidity ample in the system.
