"Inflation is almost touching 12 per cent now. The government is entangled in the situation. Price rise is a demon beyond their control," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters.
"The govt is clueless (about what to do) and the proof of this is that even the finance minister has now stopped giving any alibis on the situation," he added.
"As per estimates, inflation is all set to touch 15 per cent within a month. The government looks helpless," he said.
The BJP has made rising inflation one of the main issues on which to take on the UPA government in the forthcoming general elections due in May 2009.
