A detailed consultation on the contours of the proposed reshuffle was held last week, with two significant special invitees. RSS leader and co-ordinator Madandas Devi as well as BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan were drafted in the meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, BJP president Venkiah Naidu, Defence Minister and NDA convener George Fernandes and Finance Minister Jaswant Singh also attended the meeting. The interpretation being put to this meeting is that this will be the Prime Minister
