Jagmohan Hospital launched capsule endoscopy on Saturday in Ahmedabad. New development in the field of endoscopy is wireless capsule endoscopy "" swallowing a small wireless capsule taking upto 60,000 photographs of the GI tract from oral cavity down to large intestine, while it travels from mouth to the lower end by normal peristalsis.

This state of the art technology is now available to Gujarat for first time.

Wireless capsule endoscopy is used to diagnoses small intestinal diseases, which were neither seen, nor diagnosed in early stages. Patients loosing blood from intestines, having mal-absorption or intestinal tumours are immensely benefited from this technology.
