RBI's recruitment of Grade B officers: phase-II test results out

Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results on the official site of RBI

After declaring the results of RBI Grade B Officers Exam (Phase I) in June 2017, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has declared the results of Grade B Officers Phase II test that was conducted online on July 6 and 7, this year. The exam was taken under the recruitment program of the central bank to select deserving candidates to be appointed as its officers under the Grade B cadre. Unlike other Public Sector Banks (PSBs) that hire candidates through the IBPS exams, the RBI has its own selection process to conduct exams. It also has a separate counselling and recruitment process to select the best candidates for vacant posts. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results at the official website of RBI.

• Search for the form ‘Opportunities@RBI’ on the home page. Click on the same.
• On the new page under ‘Current Vacancies’ click on the Results

1. The interviews will begin from August 2017 and will end in October 2017. The interview call letters (with New Roll Numbers) indicating date, time and venue of the interview will be sent separately in phases (in due course) on their registered e-mail address. Candidates are requested to check their mailbox, including spam and junk box for the same. The shortlisted candidates are advised to take a print out of the interview call letter and bring a hard copy on the day of interview along with all original documents in support of their eligibility.

2. Kindly send one set of self-certified photocopies of the documents to verify the date of birth and academic qualifications, including matriculation and SSC exam results along with the mark sheets of all years and semesters acquired during higher education. Candidates need to carry their caste certificate (if SC/ST/OBC) and disability certificate (if Persons with Disability-PWD) for the purposes of verification.

3. With regard to the academic qualification, in case a system of allotting aggregate grade points (CGPA/OGPA/CPI, etc) is followed instead of giving a percentage of marks, then the candidate must forward the criteria for conversion as defined by the Board/University/Institute. The conversion criterion must be printed on the mark-sheet or the candidate must obtain a certified copy from a competent authority of the Board/University/institute and forward it to the RBI. If they fail to do so, then the conversion criteria as mentioned at note 2 to para 3 (III) of the recruitment advertisement no. 5A/2016-17 will be applied.

4. If the shortlisted candidate has taken any benefit of age relaxation, he/she should submit the relevant certificate.

6. Staff candidates should submit their documents through the HRMD/Staff section of respective Regional Office/COD.

The Bank had scheduled the RBI Grade B Phase II exams (online) with the following pattern:

In Paper II involving an examination of English-writing skills, the candidates were required to use the keyboard in the computer itself. The bank had released the Notification of RBI Grade B (2017) in June aiming to undertake the online test at two levels- Phase I and Phase II. The online test through these phases would help the bank in shortlisting applicants for the final appointment. On June 17, 2017, the bank conducted the RBI Grade B Phase I exam at different centres across the country for the recruitment of Offers in Grade ‘B’ (General), Officers in Grade ‘B’ (Department of Economics and Policy Research-DEPR) and Officers in Grade ‘B’ (Department of Information and Statistics-DSIM). RBI announced the results within a week and published a list of around 3,500 candidates who cracked the Phase I online test.

The exam had a total of 300 marks. For selection in the Phase II test, the candidate had to score the minimum cut-off in each test and on the total marks as well. The banks had released the cut-off list on its official site. The list can be viewed here.
