"The final decision will be taken by the party President and I am ready to take up any assignment offered (to me)," said Singh who had won four times on Congress ticket from Narla in Kalahandi district.
The Congress veteran joined BJD for being cold-shouldered over his wish to contest Lok Sabha election from Kalahandi constituency which is currently represented by another senior leader, Bhakta Charan Das. Das is likely to be re-nominated for this seat.
Singh said, he would prefer to campaign for the party candidates in the polls.
Sources said that BJD may field Arka Keshari Deo, the royal scion of Kalahandi and son of former MP Bikram Keshari Deo, for the Kalahandi Lok Sabha seat.
In related development sitting Koraput MP, Jairam Pangi has expressed his unwillingness to join the fray for the ensuing general polls.
