Bank of India today said it posted a net profit of Rs 872.17 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008, as compared Rs 511.89 crore for the same quarter last fiscal.
The bank's total income rose to Rs 5,393.74 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 3,705.21 crore for the same quarter a year ago.
"The figures for the quarter and nine months ended December 31 are not classified as above and hence not comparable," the bank said.
For the nine months ended December 31, the lender has a net profit of Rs 2,196.98 crore, however it had a net profit of Rs 1,252.36 crore for the same period a year ago.
Bank of India was trading at Rs 245.40, up 2.16 per cent on the BSE.
