Shriram Transport Finance Company has posted a 108.5 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 95.93 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2007, compared with Rs 46.01 crore in the corresponding period a year ago. The rise comes on the back of higher growth in revenue.
 
For the second quarter, the company's revenue soared 72 per cent to Rs 560.32 crore from Rs 326.46 crore in the period under review. The profit before tax grew by 114.18 per cent to Rs 147.06 crore from Rs 68.66 crore in the year-ago period.
 
For the half year ended September 30, the company's net profit rose by 96 per cent to Rs 170.86 crore compared with Rs 87.05 crore in the same period last year.
 
Revenues stood at Rs 1,032.16 crore, higher by 73 per cent over Rs 597.34 crore in the year-ago period. Profit before tax was Rs 265.28 crore as against Rs 131.89 crore.
 
Total assets under management as on September 30, 2007, were Rs 14,826 crore as against Rs 12,932 crore as on June 30, 2007.
