'Salam Cinema' Screening Opens Mohsen Makhmalbaf Retro

Retrospective of Iranian Film maker Mohsen Makhmalbaf opened at 45thIFFI with the screening of his film 'Salam Cinema'. Speaking to audience on the occasionMohsen Makhmalbaf revealed that this film dedicated to the Centenary of Cinema was made in eleven days. The penetrating exploration of social realities can be seen in the disturbingly self-reflexive 'SalamCinema' (1994)-the cinema verite-style account of an audition that turns into a meditation on the corruption of power.
