| The 57 students who participated in the final placement process had 95 offers between them. In fact, only 33 of the 52 companies who registered could be accommodated. |
| Companies like AGS Morgan Stanley, IBM India, Perfetti India, Cap Gemini, Ernst & Young, Accenture and Maruti Udyog Limited visited the campus for the first time. The biggest recruiter was Infosys Technologies. The average salary offered was Rs 6.65 lakh. |
| The maximum offers were made by the marketing companies with an average offered salary of Rs 6.23 lakh. The maximum offers accepted were from the banking and financial services sector, where the average salary was Rs 6.84 lakh. |
| The dream run of B-school placements continued at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Mumbai. Of the batch of 115 students, 104 were placed within the first 14 hours; the remaining took another two hours. |
| There was an increase in the number of companies participating in the placement process, 113 compared to 88 last year. As expected, the IT sector was the largest recruiter, followed by banks and financial institutions. |
| The average salary offered was Rs 6.82 lakh, which is a 10 per cent increase over last year. Two offers were made by a Singapore-based finance organisation, which offered a salary of $ 50,000 and a bonus of up to $ 25,000. |
| PGP-HR programme at MDI |
| The Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, and the National Human Resource Development (HRD) Network will sign an MoU on March 23, for the institute's PGP-HR programme. |
| Those expected at the signing ceremony include Pritam Singh, director MDI; Santrupt Misra, director, BMC; Jagdip Khandpur, director-HR, Bharti Group; Dwarkanath, director-HR, Glaxo Smithkline and Satish Pradhan, head HR, Tata Sons. |
| The course has been designed with the help of the HRD Network. The programme will have about 40 per cent of the classes conducted by industry representatives. |
| The HRD Network has taken the responsibility of student placements for the first three batches. The first batch is scheduled to start in July 2004 with about 40 students. |
