MDI Gurgaon reports 100% placement

  • Some of the biggest recruiters at MDI were Bharat Shell, Nestle, Maruti, Infosys, JP Morgan Chase, IBM and Oracle
  • The highest salary offered at MDI this year was Rs 9 lakh annually, while the lowest was Rs 4.25 lakh
  • It took just six hours for the whole batch of 123 MBA students to net jobs

     
    The infotech sector appeared to have got the spring back in its stride as it accounted for nearly 37 per cent of the recruitment at MDI.

    The financial services sector accounted for 22 per cent, while FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) and consumer durables were lower in the popularity charts, with 16 per cent of the students opting for them.

    Nearly 12 per cent opted for companies in the manufacturing sector and the rest went for media and consulting jobs. Jobs offered by financial services companies were in investment banking, treasury, equity research and retail banking.

    According to Subir Verma, the placement co-ordinator at the institute, there was an even spread of students opting for functions like marketing, human resources, finance and operations.
