The Asian markets today ended on a negative note owing to profit taking.
The Hang Sang plunged 308 points to 17,776. The Nikkei dropped 137 points to 9,704.
The Shanghai Composite added 44 points at 2,854.
The Straits Times slipped 23 points to 2,248 and the Seoul Composite dropped 15 points to 1,375.
The Taiwan Weighetd Index was down 51 points at 6,144.

The Asian markets after opening mixed today have now turned red.
The Hang Seng has tumbled 356 points (2%) to 17,728.

The Nikkei has slumped 163 points to 9,678.
The Shanghai Composite on the other hand is up 33 points (1%) at 2,848.
The Straits Times has dropped 21 points to 2,250 and the Seoul Composite is down 11 points at 1,380.
The Taiwan Weighted Index has shed 60 points to 6,136.

The Hang Seng has dropped 172 points to 17,912. The Nikkei has slipped 177 points (2%) to 9,663.
The Shanghai Composite has added 31 points (1%) to 2,841.
The Seoul Composite is up marginally at 1,393 and the Taiwan Weighted Index has advanced 21 points to 6,217.
The Straits Times on the other hand has slipped four points to 2,267.
