Bharat Bijlee has surged 12% to Rs 759 on the NSE in early morning trade after the company reported a net profit of Rs 8.89 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2015 (Q3FY16) against a loss of Rs 4.09 crore in the year ago quarter.
Operational income increased 21% to Rs 204 crore from Rs 168 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
For the first nine months (April-December) of current financial year 2016, the company posted profit of Rs 4.73 crore against loss of Rs 25.30 crore in the same period last year. It had loss of Rs 34 crore in the entire previous financial year 2015.
At 09:30 a.m. the stock was up 9% at Rs 741 on the NSE. A combined 66,052 shares changed hands on the counter on the NSE and BSE so far.
