Restricted arrivals influence prices

Cardamom prices rose by Rs 17.80 to Rs 851.10 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on pick up in demand in view of the festive season.
Restricted arrivals from producing region supported the uptrend in cardamom.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December rose by Rs 17.80, or 2.14%, to Rs 851.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 256 lots.
November cardamom edged up by Rs 6.30, or 0.81%, to Rs 785.30 per kg in 42 lots.
Marketmen attributed the rise in cardamom futures to pick up in demand in the spot market due to festive season amid lower arrivals from producing belts.
