The new product would save cost of the farmers spent on manual weeding and water thereby cutting the cost by almost half.
“SEMPRA is an acclaimed product of Nissan Chemicals Industries, Japan and has been launched for the first time in Indian by Dhanuka Agritech, for control of weeds adversely affecting sugar-cane crop,” the company said in a statement.
The company will soon make this product available across the country through a network of dealers and distributors. It would benefit farmers in states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, it added.
The stock opened at Rs 520 and hit a high of Rs 592 on BSE. The trading volumes on the counter more than doubled with a combined 106,403 shares till 1241 hours on BSE and NSE.
