Asian markets were trading on a flat note. Hang Seng added 126 points at 22,726. Nikkei was up 23 points at 10,476.
Japanese shares gained on track for the first day of gains in four sessions as the Nikkei Average Index edged up 0.2% to 10,476.35 in early trading. The gains came as oil futures held off the $100-a-barrel level in electronic trading.
However, Shanghai Composite dropped 1% to 2,852 and Taiwan Weighted is down 0.3%.
Jakarta Composite and Seoul Composite is trading flat at 3,434 and 1,947 respectively.
The SGX Nifty too is trading unchanged at 5,263.
