Healthy Q2 performance buoys GMR Infrastructure

GMR Infrastructure zoomed 19.5 per cent today to close at Rs 59.15 after the company announced its results for the second quarter of FY09. The company’s standalone net profit jumped 171 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to Rs 24.2 crore during the quarter.

Its revenues rose 137 per cent y-o-y to Rs 407.2 crore during the same period. The stock opened 7.1 per cent higher at Rs 53 (its low of the day) and, subsequently, hit an intraday high of Rs 62. As many as 493,060 shares changed hands on BSE during the one-hour muhurat trading.
