Jeera prices rose 0.19% to Rs 13,465 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators hiked positions, supported by fresh overseas demand.
However, progress of rains in growing regions and higher supplies restricted gains.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July contracts gained Rs 25, or 0.19%, to Rs 13,465 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,870 lots.
On the similar lines, jeera for delivery in June traded higher by Rs 20, or 0.15%, to Rs 13,175 per quintal, with an open interest of 16,443 lots.
