Jeera prices rose by Rs 132.50 to Rs 13,167.50 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions as demand improved in spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the June contract rose by Rs 132.50, or 1.02%, to Rs 13,167.50 per quintal in 26 lots.
The July contract traded higher by Rs 122.50, or 0.93%, to Rs 13,345 per quintal in 5,943 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in jeera futures to fresh positions created by speculators supported by a rise in spot market demand and restricted arrivals.
