Market pulse for key agro commodites: Mangal Keshav

Arrivals of chilli crop declined further to ~0.6-0.7lakh bags while buying interest eased slightly at auctions held at Guntur market. Spot rates were unchanged & quoted at '50-'55 per kg based on crop quality.

Arrivals of jeera crop declined to about 45,000 bags while trades remained strong above 50,000 bags on strong demand from local buyers & exporters at auctions held at Unjha market. Spot rates were up & quoted at '130-'132 per kg, as
per trade reports.

Spot market for Turmeric at Nizamabad was closed, due to Amavasya & will remain close on Thursday, on account of local festival.

Average price of small cardamom declined to '639 per kg while maximum price offered was up at '1,082 per kg, as per spice board. Total inflow of small cardamom crop increased to 86.9 tons from which ~85.8 tons were sold at CPMC
auction held at Kumily.

Arrivals of Soya bean crop declined to about 15,000 bags across mandis of Rajasthan & ~20,000 bags across mandis of Maharashtra, as per trade reports. Most of the mandis at MP, including Indore were closed yesterday, due to Amavasya.

Spot rates of soya bean crop offered by planters up '40.5-'41 per kg while rates across major mandis increased to above '40 per kg.

Malaysia's crude palm oil output in the month of March increased by 2.2% on a m-o-m basis to 1.3mn tons, while March exports swelled by 10% to 1.54mn tons, and end-March palm oil stocks declined by 11% to 2.1mn tons, as per Malaysian
Palm Oil Board.

Inflow of mustard seed crop declined to 199,526 quintals, while average of closing spot rates were down at '3,170.8 per quintal, as per agriculture marketing board of Rajasthan.

Total arrivals of mustard seed crop declined below 6lakh bags across major trading center while spot rates were up & quoted at '36-'38 per kg based on quality & location, as per reports.

Spot rates of mentha oil closed on a flat note while futures fell below '1,000 per kg mark on increased selling, due to bearish supply-demand fundamentals. Average daily arrivals too have declined to 140-150 drums.

According to Indian Cotton Federation, cotton production for 2012-13 is currently estimated at 326lakh bales against 330lakh bales projected by the Cotton Advisory Board.
