The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today witnessed record deliveries for its September Agra potato contract, which expired on September 14. The total delivery was 8,280 tonnes at the settlement price of Rs 620.40 a quintal.

"A robust delivery mechanism and knowledge of physical market intricacies have led to record deliveries of potato on the MCX platform," said MCX Vice-President Sanjit Prasad.

The Agra potato accounts for 40 per cent of the total domestic potato crop, estimated at around 26-27 million tonnes annually.
