The Sensex is now down 128 points at 13,564.
Wipro and Ranbaxy have slumped 4% each to Rs 356 and Rs 299, respectively.
TCS and Hindalco have tumbled 2.7% each to Rs 694 and Rs 106, respectively.
Bharti Airtel has plunged 2.5% to Rs 790. Tata Power, Satyam and ITC have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,001, Rs 327 and Rs 189, respectively.
DLF and ACC have dropped nearly 2% each to Rs 393 and Rs 617, respectively. Grasim is down 1.5% at Rs 1,907.
Larsen & Toubro, HDFC Bank and ONGC have advanced over 1% each to Rs 2,580, Rs 1,296 and Rs 1,073, respectively.
Out of 2,629 stocks traded so far, 1,671 have declined, 871 have advanced and 87 are unchanged.
