Sensex ends down 130pts

The Sensex has finally ended (provisional) at 15,537, down 130 points.

The NSE Nifty has finally ended (provisonal) at 4,619, down 43 points.

Sudden bouts of selling led the markets to slip into negative zone. The Sensex has touched a low of 15,475, down 448 points from day's high. The index is now at 15,582, down 84 points.

The NSE Nifty is now at 4,634, down 27 points.

All the BSE sectoral indices also plunged into negative, barring auto and IT indices.

ACC has shed nearly 4% to Rs 777. Sterlite and  Hindalco have slipped over 3% each to Rs 653 and Rs 102, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC and DLF have declined 2.5% each to Rs 838, Rs 2,413 and Rs 414, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates and HDFC Bank have also shed 2.5% each.

Reliance Infrastructure, BHEL, Grasim, Bharti Airtel, NTPC are down 1.5-2% each.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,851 stocks, 1,731 have declined and 1,049 have advanced so far.
