Sensex ends up 126pts

The Sensex has finally ended (provisional) at 14,169, up 126 points.

The Sensex continues to exhibit extreme volatility and is at its now at 14,207, up 164 points.

The BSE Auto and the FMCG indices have moved up 4%.

Jaiprakash Associates has advanced 8% to Rs 208. ITC has gained 7% at Rs 212.

Hero honda and Mahindra & Mahindra have added 6% at Rs 1,441 and Rs 753, respectively.

Maruti has zoomed 5% to Rs 1,089. ACC, Grasim and Bhart Airtel have increased 4-4.5% each.

ONGC has slipped 2% to Rs 1,048. Reliance and Reliance Communications have dropped 1% each.

The market breadth is fairly negative- out of 2,563 shares traded, 1,488 shares have declined and 979 have advanced so far on the BSE.
