Sensex ends up 419pts

The Sensex finally ended (provisional) at 14,765, up 419 points.

The Sensex has extended gains and is now at 14,709, up 363 points.

ICICI Bank has rallied over 6% to Rs 742.

Sterlite and Larsen & Toubro have surged over 5% each to Rs 608 and Rs 1,608, respectively.

Infosys and Hindalco have advanced nearly 3% each to Rs 1,810 and Rs 87, respectively.

BHEL, Reliance and Maruti Suzuki have gained 2.5% each at Rs 2,190, Rs 2,009 and Rs 1,027, respectively.

Sun Pharma has tumbled nearly 12 % to Rs 1,145.

Ranbaxy has declined over 4% to Rs 255.

Tata Steel is down 2.5% to Rs 388.

The market breadth is fairly positive -out of 2674 shares, 1,615 advanced and 971 declined.
