The Sensex has touched a high of 16,998 and is now strong at 16,925, up 118 points.
The NSE Nifty is at 5,024, up 40 points.
FMCG index has advanced around 3% to 2,776. Oil & gas and metal indices are up 2% each.
Tata Motors has soared 4.5% to Rs 583. Hindustan Unilever has added 4% to Rs 290.
Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Steel and ITC have increased over 3% each to Rs 1,310, Rs 533 and Rs 252, respectively.
Hindalco, Reliance, ONGC and Jaiprakash Associates are up over 2% each.

TCS, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys and Sun Pharmaceuticals are some of the major losers.
The market breadth is fairly positive, out of 2,642 shares traded, 1,399 have advanced and 1,158 have declined so far on the BSE.
