Sugar weakens on subdued demand
Sugar prices fell moderately at the the Vashi wholesale market here today due to reduced offtake from retailers on the back of adequate stock positions.
Medium sugar quality (M-30) moved down by Rs 5/10 per quintal to Rs 2,841/2,921 from its overnight closing level of Rs 2,851/2,926 per quintal.
Small sugar quality (S-30) also ended slightly lower at Rs 2,800/2,861 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,801/2,861 yesterday.
